CHILDREN AVAILABLE: Six years and older, with Caucasian and Mediterranean appearances. Many sibling groups available. Travel to Kiev to receive referral from Ministry. Some information on waiting children may be available prior to travel. Some children will need medical and/or developmental intervention. More boys are available than girls.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: One long or two shorter trips required. First trip will be approximately 2 weeks, family comes home for 2 ½ weeks, then one parent returns to Ukraine for about ten days. Alternatively, family can stay and complete the adoption process in one trip of approx. 35 days. Coordinators, drivers and translators will be provided.

LENGTH OF PROCESS: Preparation of adoption dossier takes 2 - 3 months. It takes a few months to get dossier filed in Ukraine, and family make first trip approx. 2 - 3 months later.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Flexible, although generally there may be no more than a 45 year age difference between either parent and the child. If husband is more than 45 years older than child, wife can adopt without him. Couples should be married for at least two years, although there is some flexibility on this. Singles are not eligible.
